Bush screws up, again, on Cuba

More of the same
In a major address at the State Department, President Bush announced that U.S. policy toward Cuba will remain the same, only more so. Thus another opportunity for fresh thinking by the 10th American president to deal with Fidel Castro slides by.

Bush misses the boat on Cuba
President Bush has always missed the politics on Cuba, and his saber-rattling Wednesday ensures that the country most able to foster democracy there will continue to be the least able. This marks another lost opportunity for Cubans, Americans - and the Republican Party.
Bush broke no policy ground. His call for Cubans to rise up against the communist government was little more than red meat for hard-line Cuban exiles in the run-up to the 2008 general election.

I can cite numerous other newspapers from around the U.S. All in their own way are saying the same thing: You screwed up George – again! This is the tenth U.S. president to deal with the Cuba issue after the 1959 revolution and the latest to get it all wrong.Progreso Weekly will publish other examples in their Thursday (November 1) edition.
But I thought I would give you a head start…By the way, so far, as far as I know, the only three newspapers to laud the president’s message reside in Miami (surprise!): The Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald and Diario Las Americas. Well, one newspaper and two… you decide what to call them.
